ENTERING A NEW FAFSA
.The screen to display after accessing this module will prompt you for selection or entry of student criteria. First, select whether to search for a STUDENT or a LEAD.
.Enter the criteria that the system will use for searching a lead or a student. If you are not familiar with the student or the lead's search criteria details, then you may click the SEARCH button right away. Doing so, the system will show a list of Students/Leads maintained under the logged in School or Campus. Select the appropriate student/lead.
.After selecting a student, the system will pass down the data to the fields (STUDENT, and BIRTH DATE) below the form.
.By clicking the PROCEED button, a FAFSA will be created. If there isn’t a FAFSA already entered or an ISIR received in RGMSMS, data from the Lead or Student Profile will automatically be copied into fields on the first page of the FAFSA. You must update this data if necessary and complete the remaining portions of the FAFSA, otherwise the FAFSA will remain incomplete.

.Repeat steps 5-6 until completed. When completed you will see the Need Analysis Result Page.
.The Need Analysis Result Page will give you an estimated EFC and Dependency Status. It is suggested that you PRINT a copy of the Need Analysis Result (calculation page) and review all fields. Keep the Need Analysis Result page with your records until you have received an ISIR in RGMSMS and verified the consistency between the data on the Need Analysis Result Printout and the ISIR.

.After printing the Need Analysis Result Page, select the SAR link. In the Send Electronic Application dropdown box, choose SEND or DON’T SEND.

.Click SAVE UPDATES to update and send the application to the CPS for further processing.

TIP: Once the FAFSA is flagged as SEND, the FAFSA record cannot be modified. Corrections and changes to the FAFSA or ISIR(s) will be allowed once RGMSMS receives a response from CPS. FAFSAs in RGMSMS flagged as SEND are typically processed daily and sent to CPS the next business day. Once a FAFSA is sent to the CPS by RGM, it can typically take up to 72 hours to receive an ISIR.
